Dr. Ryne Johnson's Biography

Ryne S. Johnson, DMD - Prosthodontist graduated from Brown University, where he received his bachelor of arts degree and captained the baseball team as its catcher. He received his doctorate in dental medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He received a Certificate in Prosthodontics from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he finished top of his class.

Dr. Johnson is the founder and director of Newton Wellesley Dental Partners, a collaborative practice with offices in Newton & Wellesley. He has practiced cosmetic, prosthetic and implant dentistry since 1986 and has been regarded as a pioneer in CAD/CAM dentistry and has worked on some of Boston’s most prominent television, radio, political and business professionals. He is the ‘go-to’ dentist for many of Boston’s high-fashion and professional sports figures. He is perennially selected as one of the ‘Top Dentists in America’ by the Research Council of America.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Johnson has served as a clinical professor at both Boston University and Tufts University Schools of Dental Medicine, in their postdoctoral department of prosthodontics. He has served as the Chief Dental Surgeon for the 143d Medical Squadron of the Rhode Island Air National Guard. He has served as a member of a local Board of Health.

He is a member of the American College of Prosthodontics, the International Congress of Oral Implantology, the American Society of Implant Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Massachusetts Dental Society. He has lectured nationally on many topics within his field of expertise.

He, his wife Donna and two children (Alexandra and Zakare) live in Westwood and are active in many local, philanthropic organizations that range from school groups, athletic organizations, and healthcare initiatives to historic preservation. Alex attends Boston College and Zak is at the Wheeler School.
